Hurricane Milton is gaining strength in the Gulf and is currently scheduled to reach the coast on Wednesday. While the direct impact appears to be nearing more northern parts of our state, we must stay vigilant in case the storm changes path and heads more South. Alerts and Updates During Emergencies:

Recovering from Hurricane Helene

My heart goes out to all those affected by Hurricane Helene. I’m committed to hearing from our community and directing all the resources of the federal government to where they are needed across the state and nationwide. This storm was one of the worst in our nation’s history, and it will take every single person to rebuild our communities. I’m dedicated to making sure we build back stronger than ever.

The havoc that Helene has wreaked in Florida and across the Southeast requires a sustained and effective response from the federal government. I am in constant contact with FEMA, state and local officials, and community leaders to ensure that we are doing everything we can to assist the people affected.

For more updates on Hurricane Helene and assistance, visit the Florida Division of Emergency Management Disaster website HERE.

Please make sure to comply with local law enforcement orders. They have been trained for these situations and are prepared to safely steer our communities through this period.
