Greetings,
I hope this message finds you well. As your Thirteenth Congressional District Representative, I want to share some important updates with you from the past month:
Chairman David Scott Highlights Passage of the Lower Food and Fuel Costs Act in the House
This past month, I took to the House Floor to share my strong support for H.R. 7606, the Lower Food & Fuel Costs Act. With the bill's passage, America's farmers, ranchers, and consumers are a step closer to getting the relief they need and deserve.
House Agriculture Committee Hearings with Community Leaders, Discussing Food Security and Agriculture Resiliency
Many thanks to Atlanta Community Food Bank President Kyle Waide for joining us on Capitol Hill last month to share his expertise on the great work of community food banks. It is always great to discuss how we can improve food security in Georgia and across the nation.
Dr. Ali Fares of Prairie View A&M University also joined me on Capitol Hill last month at our House Agriculture Committee hearing to examine how the climate research conducted at 1890s HBCUs across the nation will support agriculture resiliency for generations to come.
Congressman David Scott Votes to Pass Legislation to Address Epidemic of Gun Violence
This past month, President Joe Biden signed the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act into law. The bill, which I proudly voted to pass in the House of Representatives, institutes common-sense measures for the purchase and possession of firearms and will invest in the mental health needs of our communities.
While my colleagues in Congress and I continue to push for comprehensive legislation to confront gun violence, this bill takes a monumental step forward for all Americans.
Congressman David Scott Statement on Supreme Court Decision Overturning Roe v. Wade
Congressman David Scott Leads Georgia Congressional Delegation in Commending United States Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards
It is my sincere honor, alongside my colleagues in the Georgia Congressional Delegation, to commend U.S. Capitol Police Officer Caroline Edwards for her unwavering fidelity to her oath, her colleagues, and the Constitution.

House of Representatives Passes Landmark Wildlife Conservation Legislation
I recently voted to pass the Recovering America’s Wildlife Act, landmark legislation that will provide critical funding for the conservation of our natural ecosystems and the recovery of our vulnerable wildlife communities. I am proud that my amendment to secure federal support for pollinator populations was included in the bill, and I look forward to the Senate taking up this legislation as soon as possible.
