Recap: Our Town Hall + Time in Community
Dear Neighbor,
Following an incredible and busy district work period, I’d like to share a brief recap of how we spent our time together in the Massachusetts 7th Congressional District earlier this month.
Celebrating $1M Investment in Digital Literacy

My team and I visited the East Boston YMCA last week to deliver $1,000,000 in federal community project funding to expand the City of Boston’s Digital Literacy Initiative, a critical program that helps workforce development programs address digital literacy gaps. I’m grateful to Mayor Michelle Wu and our local leaders for their partnership in bringing much-deserved digital literacy opportunities to our city. You can watch the video from our event here and view photos here.
Fireside Chat with the Boston Globe

It was wonderful to join a packed room of Cambridge and Somerville residents for a live fireside chat with Josh Miller of the Boston Globe at the King Open School in Cambridge. We discussed my personal journey into politics and motivation as your Representative, how Democrats are pushing back against the Trump-Musk agenda, and how we can stay engaged and hopeful in our fight together. See more of that conversation here.
Visiting Randolph Intergenerational Community Center

I had the opportunity to visit the Randolph Intergenerational Community Center and see the incredible programming and interactive events the center provides for our seniors. As we fight to defend Social Security and Medicare from dangerous cuts by the Trump-Musk Administration, it’s inspiring to see how our community continues to uplift and support our elders. It was also a joy to play some Scrabble!
Reading to Students at Harvard Kent Elementary

It was a joy to visit young learners at Harvard Kent Elementary in Charlestown. Though I believe every month is Women’s History Month, we sat together to read “‘ABC What Can She Be?” to shine light on the many jobs and careers that women can have. As always, I’m grateful for our many educators, school psychologists, and librarians who keep our students safe and engaged, and to the students who shared their aspirations to be astronauts, singers, and a very dedicated excavator operator.
Youth Guidance Boston

I also had the opportunity to visit Youth Guidance Boston’s Becoming a Man youth group counseling circle at the Holland High School of Technology in Dorchester. We also hear more about their Working of Womanhood programming to support girls exposed to traumatic stressors in high-risk and under-resourced communities. Students of all backgrounds deserve to feel supported and uplifted in their educational communities, and I’m grateful to our local leaders for their work to ensure students thrive.
Conversations in Community at Roxbury Town Hall

It was powerful to see many of you at my town hall in Roxbury, where we were joined by Massachusetts State Senator Liz Miranda and Executive Director of the ACLU of Massachusetts, Carol Rose, to share updates and hear your thoughtful questions. In our town hall, we discussed how we’re fighting back against the Trump-Musk Administration’s harmful agenda, shared how we can stand up for our communities, and provided resources for our constituents.
If you weren’t able to attend the town hall, you can watch some of my remarks here and see here for a rights and resources one-pager that we shared. For updates on our next town hall, subscribe to my newsletter here. |
