Dear Friend,
My office is hosting a Health Care Policy Town Hall on Thursday, May 16th, at 7:30 p.m. at the Montgomery County Executive Office Building Cafeteria. Please join us at this important event, which will focus on key developments in health care policy at the state and federal level.
We will learn about two new pieces of landmark legislation that the General Assembly recently passed in the 2019 Session to reduce the cost of prescription drugs and ease the enrollment process for health insurance. The first bill will create the nation's first Prescription Drug Affordability Board, which you can read about here. The second bill will create the Maryland Easy Enrollment Health Insurance Program to allow taxpayers the option of enrolling in health insurance by checking a box on their annual state income tax returns. Read more about this bill here.
In addition, I will speak about what the House of Representatives is doing to improve health care policy and lower prescription drug prices at the federal level. Please save the date and spread the word about this event. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact my District Office staff at 301-354-1000.
