Dear Friend,

Every year, I have the honor of nominating qualified students from Maryland's 8th District for appointment to our nation's Service Academies. The privilege of attending a Service Academy comes with the obligation and commitment to serve in the military for a minimum of five years upon graduation. My District Office is hosting our Service Academy Information Night this Thursday, August 22nd. Scroll for details!

If you or your high school-aged son or daughter is thinking about a career in the military, I invite and welcome all of you to attend our Information Night to hear from representatives from each Service Academy.

My staff will also be on site to answer questions.

About the Academies

Students can apply for a nomination to one or more of our nation’s service academies, which prepare future commissioned officers for the United States Armed Forces: the United States Military Academy, the United States Naval Academy, the United States Merchant Marine Academy, and the United States Air Force Academy. 

A Note About USCGA

A congressional nomination is not required for the U.S. Coast Guard Academy admissions process.
