Dear Friend,
I wanted to give you the opportunity to read about three pieces of firearms-related legislation that I helped pass out of the House Judiciary Committee this week:
- H.R.1186, the Keep Americans Safe Act, which would ban high capacity magazines;
- H.R. 1236, the Extreme Risk Protection Order Act, which would provide incentives through grants for states to adopt laws providing for Extreme Risk Protection Orders to prevent those deemed a risk to themselves or others from accessing firearms;
- and H.R. 2708, the Disarm Hate Act, which would include those convicted of violent misdemeanor hate crimes in the list of categories of individuals who are prohibited from possessing firearms.
I invite you to read the write-up of this legislation by Maryland Matters by clicking here. If you haven't already, be sure to like my Facebook page, follow me on Twitter and Instagram, and subscribe to my YouTube channel for real-time updates about how I'm working for you.
All Best,
