Get Covered During Open Enrollment
November 10, 2020
Dear Neighbor,
During open enrollment, you can purchase, renew, or change your health insurance plan through our state’s marketplace from November 1, 2020 through December 15, 2020. You must enroll by December 15, 2020 in order to have coverage begin on January 1, 2021.
Due to the coronavirus public health crisis, there is also a special enrollment period for uninsured Marylanders through December 15. If you enroll by November 15, your coverage will begin November 1. If you enroll from November 16 through December 15, your coverage will begin December 1.
As the deadly coronavirus pandemic continues, I encourage all Marylanders to get covered. Maryland Health Connection, our state’s official health insurance marketplace, seeks to provide quality health insurance coverage that fits your budget. When you apply for coverage, you may also qualify for financial help, such as tax credits, cost sharing reductions, or even free or low-cost coverage.
Maryland Health Connection will be hosting enrollment events by phone. If you would like help getting covered, you can call and speak with a navigator or join free, statewide call-in enrollment events from Friday, November 6 through Thursday, November 15. Experts will help you understand your 2021 coverage options and the financial help available.
