Iran Nuclear Verification Act

This week, I introduced the Iran Nuclear Verification Act. A nuclear Iran is a threat to the safety of the entire world, and we must not allow them to achieve their goal. President Biden's decision to reengage Iran on the flawed Iran Nuclear Deal will lead to a nuclear armed Iran within 10 years. My legislation would require Iran to be in full compliance with the original terms of the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action before the U.S. even approaches the table. This includes allowing UN nuclear inspectors full access to every nuclear site and the UN nuclear inspectors finishing their comprehensive report on Iran's nuclear activities.

Lapeer County Community Engagement

Recently, I had the opportunity to address the Lapeer County Community Collaborative in their virtual legislative town hall. I gave a Congressional update and explained what I have been up to in my first seven weeks in office. I'm humbled everyday I get to serve our community.

Pushing back at Communist China

Last week, the House Armed Services Committee held a hearing titled, the Department of Defense's Evolving Roles and Mission in Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic. Fighting this pandemic is vital to the success of our country, but we cannot allow it to stop us from pushing back on communist China. The Chinese Communist Party is the number one threat to the United States and the world.

I was pleased to hear  Michigan State University is closing its Confucius Institute. The Chinese Communist Party has planted these institutes into our universities and campuses to spread their propaganda. We must continue the tough approach that President Trump began and ensure China is not allowed to continue its influence throughout the world.

Tax Returns

The IRS has officially begun accepting tax returns for the 2020 filing year. If you didn't receive either of your stimulus checks, but qualified for them, you have the opportunity to file for a Recovery Rebate Credit. The IRS has stopped sending out stimulus checks. The tax filing deadline is April 15, so be sure to file soon.
