Celebrating Our Law Enforcement Officers

This week, I had the opportunity to meet with Waseca hero, Arik Matson, while he and his family were in D.C. for National Police Week. In 2020, Officer Matson’s life was forever changed when he was almost killed in the line of duty. I am inspired by his story, and I am immensely grateful for his service and  sacrifice.

Thank you to Officer Matson and all our law enforcement officers across the First District for all you do to keep our communities safe. Happy National Police Week!

Parts of the First District received more than 7 inches of rain this past weekend, causing road closures and flood warnings.
Thank you to the city and county officials who have worked around the clock to ensure these areas remain safe.
My office is ready to help. If you live in an area affected by flooding and are in need of assistance, please reach out to my district offices.

FOCUS on Agriculture Podcast

I recently joined hosts Preston and Jason on the FOCUS on Agriculture podcast. We had a great conversation about the Farm Bill, as well as other policy topics that affect rural America. As a fourth-generation farmer, I am glad to be a voice for farm country in Congress, and I will continue to fight for rural America.

This Saturday, we celebrate Armed Forces Day; a day to recognize all those who have served in our nation's military, past and present.
As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I am honored to work alongside my colleagues in Congress to make sure our Armed Forces have all the necessary capabilities to adequately protect our nation, and that our men and women in uniform have the resources they need to maintain the best military in the world.
Thank you to all the brave service men and women who have served in our Armed Forces.
