Showcasing Southern Minnesota Agriculture

Whether it’s pork, corn, soybeans, or sugar beets, Minnesota is one of the highest-ranking states for agriculture production. It was a pleasure to join my fellow members of the Western Caucus on a field tour this week to showcase some of the industry leaders that we have here in our own backyard, as well as share with Members and staff the important role that southern Minnesota plays in our national ag economy.

Farmfest

Every year, I look forward to Farmfest as a great opportunity to connect with farmers and producers from all across Minnesota. On Wednesday, I was honored to take part in the House Ag Committee's Farm Bill Listening Session, where my fellow committee members and I heard from Minnesota farmers, producers, agribusiness owners, and community members about their priorities for the next Farm Bill.

I know that God gave me two ears and one mouth, and I intend to use them in the right proportion, making sure that we are listening to the needs of farmers and producers across Minnesota. With your feedback, we can truly shape the next Farm Bill to be written by farmers for farmers, and by rural America for rural America. Watch the full live stream here

Taking Back Taxpayer Dollars with the Pandemic Unemployment Fraud Recoupment Act

During the COVID-19 pandemic, fraudsters wrongfully took advantage of the unemployment insurance (UI) programs that were put in place to help Americans during tough financial times.

This week, I introduced the Pandemic Unemployment Fraud Recoupment Act, which will extend the statute of limitations for fraud in these pandemic UI programs, giving law enforcement more time to prosecute these criminals.
