Dear Friend,
As your representative, one of the most rewarding parts of the job is being able to highlight the talent and promise shown by the Sixth District’s students. Read on to hear more about two upcoming programs from our office for high school students…
Since 2016, our office’s Young Women’s Leadership Program has connected present and future leaders from across the state of Minnesota. Our community is blessed with so many distinguished women leaders, and their advice can be invaluable to young women as they consider their opportunities after high school graduation.
Participants in the 2022 Young Women’s Leadership Program receive a tour of Metal Craft in Elk River
Every year, we look forward to hosting this program, and I am excited to announce that we have begun accepting registrants for the 2023 session. This program connects high-school-aged girls in the Sixth Congressional District with local women leaders for guidance and mentorship as they prepare for their future after high school.
This year’s program will span three summer sessions, with topics ranging from leading in a crisis to financial literacy and mental health management. Additional details on our Young Women’s Leadership Program, as well as the application for the 2023 session, can be found on our website here.
Additionally, we recently announced that our office has begun accepting submissions for the 2023 Congressional Art Competition. Every year, we are impressed by the artistic promise demonstrated by the Sixth District’s young artists, and this competition is a great opportunity for high students to showcase their talents and have their work displayed in our nation’s Capitol.

The theme of this year’s competition is Let Freedom Ring. High-school-aged artists from the Sixth District are welcome to apply, and all entries should be submitted to our District Office in Otsego (9201 Quaday Ave. NE, Suite 206, Otsego, MN 55330). More information on the 2023 Congressional Art Competition can be found here, and all questions should be directed to our district office at (763) 241-6848.
