Dear Friend,

Following the Independence Day holiday, we were excited to have the opportunity to sit down with local government, education and business leaders from across the Sixth Congressional District.

ImageCongressman Emmer meets with Chaska Mayor Mark Windshitl

We started by talking with Chaska Mayor Mark Windshitl to hear about the latest community developments. During our meeting, we heard about the potential for a new community center in Chaska.

We also visited Pro-Tech Interconnect Solutions in Chaska, which has been a crucial player in our state’s manufacturing industry since its establishment in 1968. In October 2018, it was acquired by American Circuit Corporation, and today has 83 employees.

Pro-Tech manufactures cutting-edge printed circuit boards for various industries, including military, aerospace, medical, and commercial sectors. Given the importance of printed circuit boards in electronic products, companies like Pro-Tech play a crucial role in our economic and national security. Currently, only 4% of printed circuit boards are produced within the United States. Companies like Pro-Tech are working to bridge this gap.

ImageCongressman Emmer tours Crown College

Later in the day, I had the privilege of visiting Crown College, a Bible college located in St. Bonifacius. For over a century, Crown College has been dedicated to preparing students to live out their faith in the world after graduation.

During our meeting, college officials provided us with an update on the ongoing legal battle regarding the State of Minnesota’s new Postsecondary Enrollment Option (PSEO) exclusion, which unfairly targets religious colleges. The exclusion, included in Governor Walz's budget, would deprive these schools of their ability to offer college credits to high school students.  By stripping these schools’ ability to provide free college credits to high school students, kids and families across Minnesota will suffer. We will not sit on the sidelines while political actors in St. Paul try to take away our students’ educational opportunities.

Finally, we had the chance to tour Automotive Parts Headquarters (APH) in St. Cloud and meet with some of their leadership team. APH is a third-generation family-owned aftermarket auto parts distributor that operates nearly 300 corporate and independent Auto Value Parts stores throughout Minnesota and the Midwest. During our visit, we discussed the importance of the automotive industry in our state and the need for policies that support its growth and the career opportunities that come with it.

Stay tuned for more updates on our work in Minnesota and Washington. Remember to subscribe here to ensure you never miss an update from our office.

Sincerely,
