National Defense Authorization Act wins for service members, Minnesota, and taxpayers:

• Providing the largest pay raise for service members in over 20 years.
• Eliminating more than $40 billion in unnecessary and inefficient spending while ensuring that our military remains stronger and more prepared than ever before.
• Enacting policy to counter adversaries including China, Russia, Iran, and the Taliban.
• Creating a Special Inspector General to provide oversight of aid sent to Ukraine by the United States.
• Authorizing funding for the maintenance and construction of C-130Js, which the Minnesota National Guard is looking to acquire.
• Authorizing $697 million for the Abrams Upgrade Program, which will provide updated tanks to the Minnesota National Guard.
• Providing direct assistance to the more than 8,000 service members who were wrongly discharged for failing to take the COVID vaccine, giving them a path back to military service.
• Removing multiple woke initiatives from our military that have seriously harmed service member morale and recruiting efforts.
• Preventing Critical Race Theory (CRT) and Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) from being taught in our military institutions.
  

This bill supports our military, their families, and restores our dominance across the globe. I firmly believe these policies will have a positive impact on our national security for years to come.
