Minnesota farmers don’t just feed our state or country, they feed the world. Every year, we look forward to Farmfest, one of Minnesota’s greatest events, a three-day experience dedicated to showcasing and celebrating Minnesota’s agriculture community.

Congressman Emmer speaks at U.S. House Ag Committee Farm Bill Listening Session

Our morning started with a Farm Bill Listening Session panel. During the panel, we received feedback from Minnesota farmers, producers and stakeholders as we work to craft the Farm Bill. We were lucky to be joined for the discussion by House Agriculture Committee Chairman G.T. Thompson, as well as Representatives Michelle Fischbach, Brad Finstad, Pete Stauber, Angie Craig, Randy Feenstra, and Max Miller.

Following the panel, we had the chance to tour the festival grounds and speak with many important Minnesota organizations. Groups included the Minnesota Corn Growers, Minnesota Soybean Growers, Compeer Financial, Minnesota Pork Producers and Minnesota Beef Cattlemen’s Association.

We had a great time at Farmfest and are thankful that many of our colleagues were able to join us. It was nice to spend time speaking directly with farmers and producers, discussing the issues impacting them most, as we work to craft a Farm Bill that ensures no Minnesota farmer is left behind.
