Since President Biden took office, there have been over 6 million illegal border crossings. That’s more than the entire population of Minnesota.

More than 150 people whose names appear on the terrorist watch list were stopped trying to illegally cross the Southern Border, an all-time record.

And it’s not just people coming across illegally. Drugs are pouring into our country at an alarming rate. So far, this fiscal year, Border Patrol agents have seized enough fentanyl to kill every man, woman and child in the United States.

That is just one drug, in total Border Patrol agents have seized more than 64,000 pounds of illegal narcotics.

This is a crisis and a threat to our national security.

Last week, the House of Representatives passed our annual Homeland Security funding bill. Included in this legislation was nearly $500 million dollars for border patrol operations and the 22,000 agents who defend our border, as well as more than $2 billion to complete the border wall.

Furthermore, earlier this Congress, House Republicans presented a common-sense solution to the crisis at our southern border, the Secure the Border Act. This important legislation would provide the resources our Border Patrol officers need to secure our borders and stop the flow of drugs and illegal immigrants into our country.

Unfortunately, President Biden and Senate Democrats are blocking the Secure the Border Act. However, we will continue to encourage President Biden and our colleagues in the Senate to take up this important legislation.
