Dear Friend:

As thousands of people march for life across the country, I am honored to say that this week, the House passed my bill, the Supporting Pregnant and Parenting Women and Families Act. This bill ensures pregnancy centers cannot be excluded or restricted from receiving funding from the Temporary Assistance for Needy Families, or TANF, program. Pregnancy centers support expectant mothers and their unborn children, offering a wide range of support that make them a logical beneficiary of TANF funding. Unfortunately, this Administration is once again trying to push its anti-woman, anti-abortion agenda. The Department of Health and Human Services has proposed a rule that singles out pregnancy centers, blocking important TANF funding from these resources and instead directing it towards facilities that provide abortions.

My colleagues and I are here to defend the unborn and empower their mothers to confidently raise families. I am proud my colleagues voted to ensure pregnancy centers across America are able to access every available funding avenue to continue their important work.

On the latest Continuing Resolution

This week, the House passed yet another Continuing Resolution to avoid a government shutdown. I could not, in good conscience, vote for this resolution. The bill failed on border security provisions, failed to make serious cuts to budget, and failed to rein in the overburdensome regulations put on this country's taxpayers. At a time when the administration is leaving the border wide open, weaponizing federal agencies against political opponents, and prioritizing "woke" policies over the real needs of our citizens, this country needs Congress to take action, rather than stalling for time. I hope that with the new deadlines, we will see a greater sense of urgency to pass appropriations bills that work for the American people.

Thanks for reading!

As always, my office is open and ready to serve constituents of Minnesota's Seventh Congressional District! Please do not hesitate to get in touch if there is anything I can do to help. Have a great weekend!

Sincerely,
