Dear Friend:

Yesterday, a deranged young man tried to assassinate President Donald Trump during his rally in Pennsylvania. The president is recovering and showed great strength after a bullet grazed his head. Unfortunately, an innocent bystander was tragically killed in this attack and two more are being treated for their wounds.

This afternoon, officials identified the victim as Corey Comperatore of Sarver, Pennsylvania. The former chief of the Buffalo Township Volunteer Fire Company, Corey died shielding his wife and daughter from the bullet that ultimately took his life. Scott and I are holding Corey’s family in our prayers and in our hearts.

As we all continue to process this horrific event and pray for the families impacted, may we also come together as a country to condemn disgusting acts of political violence and be grateful that, by the grace of God, the former president survived to continue fighting for the future of this nation.
