Concealed Carry Reciprocity
As I'm sure you know, states have varying concealed carry permit laws, and many states do not have reciprocity with each other. Minnesota is one of the stricter states with regard to reciprocity. This is unnecessarily complicated and allows more liberal states, like Minnesota, California, and New York, to deny concealed carry licenses from other states.
Your Constitutional right to defend yourself does not end at a political jurisdiction like a state border. And one could certainly argue that the need to defend oneself is even greater in soft-on-crime liberal cities and states. For this reason, I cosponsored the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act, which provides reciprocity across all states as long as the firearm carrier abides by the laws of the state they are in. It just makes sense. |
