Dear Friend:

I am working hard in Congress to support our veterans and I'm excited to share some of that work and the important legislation that has been passed with you. If you know someone you think would be interested in updates on what I've been doing, I encourage you to share this email with them!

Committed to Military Readiness

In the first days of the Trump Administration, the President has been hard at work reversing Biden-era policies and signing Executive Orders to protect this nation and its citizens. In addition to securing the border and ensuring the government will no longer be weaponized against political opponents, this Administration is committed to refocusing our military on improving military readiness and putting a stop to woke policies that put our forces and the security of our nation at risk. He has also reinstated service members that were discharged from military service for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine with their former rank, full back pay, and benefits if they re-enlist.

I am proud to be a Member of a Congress that will work with this Administration to support his actions with legislation.

Senator Dole Act Becomes Law

I am so glad to report that, this month, the bipartisan Senator Elizabeth Dole 21st Century Veterans Healthcare and Benefits Improvement Act was signed into law.

Veterans and their families make incredible sacrifices to protect this nation’s freedom and our values. In return, our government is committed to supporting and caring for them. The Senator Elizabeth Dole Act, named for a woman who was, of course, married to World War II veteran Senator Bob Dole and who, after her political career, established a foundation dedicated to helping military and veteran caregivers. This bill honors her work by helping ensure our veterans and their families have access to quality and quick services like mental health and community care.

For example, it authorizes mental health grants for caregivers, increases coverage for veterans seeking alternatives to nursing home care, funds at-home services, covers ambulance rides to the VA and provides more options for veterans who need a caretaker, among a long list of other health services.

Congress looks forward to working with the Trump Administration to get this important legislation implemented quickly and effectively.
