SAVE Act Passes in the House
It is critical to our democracy that voters have faith in their elections. Unfortunately, in states like Minnesota, where Governor Walz has done nothing about the non-citizens that are appearing on voter rolls and receiving election ballots, that faith is at risk.
When you go to the store to buy age-restricted items, you have to prove you are of age and not trying to break the law. It is simple and straightforward to ask for the same measures to be taken when voting in a federal election. The House has passed the SAVE Act, which requires proof of citizenship when registering to vote, enforcing existing laws that state only U.S. citizens are allowed to vote.
A REAL ID driver's license or ID card is sufficient form of identification to be in compliance under this law. As a reminder, REAL ID requirements will go into effect on May 7.
