Dear Friend:

I am excited to say that America's jobs report beat expectations for the fourth month in a row. The country added almost 150,000 good jobs in June alone. And, wages continue to rise, with hourly earning up by close to 4% over the past year.

Don't let the fear mongers win. Under Republican leadership, Americans are seeing more jobs, better wages, and decreased inflation.

My office is holding mobile office hours at the Pope County Courthouse on Thursday, July 17, from 11:00 AM to 2:00 PM. No appointment necessary!

If you have questions or feedback for my office, now is your chance to talk with my congressional staff directly. They can help you with issues such as passport processing, veterans’ needs, tax refunds, Social Security benefits, and also connect with federal agencies (FEMA, the FSA, and more).

If you aren't able to make this one, keep an eye out for future mobile office hours across the Seventh District. For any questions, please call my office at 320-403-6100.

Expediting Disaster Assistance for Farmers

Last week, USDA Secretary Rollins announced that ag producers who suffered eligible crop losses due to national disasters in 2023 and 2024 can now apply for assistance through the Supplemental Disaster Relief Program (SDRP).

Eligible losses include wildfires, excessive heat, smoke exposure, qualifying drought, winter storms, tornadoes, and more. More information can be found on farmers.gov or by visiting your local USDA Service Center.

USDA National Farm Security Action Plan

We know that food security is national security. And we know that entities associated with the Chinese Communist Party and even terrorist organizations have plans that target the agricultural sector and American farmland. I have been supportive of legislation to stop this from happening, and now we finally have a presidential administration that takes action. The U.S. Department of Agriculture, alongside the Departments of Defense and Homeland Security and Justice, rolled out a plan to prevent Chinese nationals and citizens of foreign adversaries from buying American farmland.

A part of this plan includes working with Congress to end the direct or indirect purchase or control of American farmland by nationals from countries of concern or other foreign adversaries. I look forward to working with the Trump Administration to keep our agriculture industry, and therefore our country, safe.

Thanks for visiting!

Thank you to the Minnesota River Area Agency on Aging Executive Director, Jason Swanson, for taking the time to talk with me in my Willmar office. We discussed the importance of cutting waste, fraud, and abuse from Medicare and Medicaid to make sure those who need these programs can access them for generations to come. We also talked about the ridiculous Biden-era federal nursing staff ratio mandate that we rolled back in the One Big Beautiful Bill.

I enjoyed catching up with Willmar Mayor Doug Reese, council members, and staff to discuss ongoing city projects for things like housing, water, and pedestrian bridges.
