Dear Friend:

Last week, the House took steps to support our farmers, support our police officers, and support our military and veterans. We passed legislation for year-round E15, which will boost our farm economy and lower prices at the pump. House Republicans also supported a resolution honoring our law enforcement officers and passed appropriations to fund our military.

E15 is Fueling America

The House passed, with my vote, bipartisan legislation to allow the nationwide, year-round sale of E15. This is a historic step in removing outdated regulations that currently block the sale of E15 during the summer months. I was proud to use my position on the Rules Committee to ensure year-round E15 text was amended into HR 1346, the Nationwide Consumer and Fuel Retailer Choice Act.

In Western Minnesota, our corn growers are massive supporters of the biofuel industry. They deserve a fair and consistent market for their products. This legislation ensures steady, predictable demand year-round, giving farmers the confidence they need to plan for the future.

E15 is also a lower-cost fuel option. Opening the market year-round is a proven way to lower gas prices and provide relief for hardworking Americans during times of global energy volatility.

Year-round E15 is a win for American drivers, American farmers, and American energy independence.

National Police Week

Image

Last week, as we celebrated National Police Week, I wanted to take a moment to honor the incredible men and women in blue who work tirelessly to keep our communities safe.

To the law enforcement officers serving throughout Minnesota’s Seventh District: thank you.

Every single day, our officers display exceptional bravery, selflessness, and dedication. They are the first to respond in a crisis, putting their lives on the line to protect their neighbors. America is safer and stronger because of their courage, which is why we must ensure they have the full resources and backing necessary to do their jobs successfully.

I was proud to support H.Con.Res. 96, Expressing Support For Law Enforcement Officers, on the House Floor this week to back the officers that protect American communities, honors the risks they take, and calls out the damage caused by defund the police rhetoric.

MilCon Appropriations

I was proud to support HR 8469, the Military, Construction, and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act, to continue the push for military readiness, stronger support for military families, and real care for the veterans who served this country.

This bill supports our military by:

  • Fully funding community care for veterans who seek specialty care.
  • Prioritizing efforts to improve veteran mental health and suicide prevention services.
  • Prohibiting the VA from purchasing resources from Communist China.
  • Protects veteran 2A rights by preventing efforts from the far left to undermine veteran constitutional rights.

House Republicans are fully funding our active military and veteran health care, mental health programs, benefits, and community care because a strong military means strong national security.

I had the privilege of meeting with members of the American Feed Industry Association to discuss the upcoming US-Mexico-Canada Agreement (USMCA) review, specifically on the Canadian imports of piglets and butcher hogs into the US. The USMCA is critical to the agricultural economy and a key part of rural America's success and resilience. I will continue to use my position on the Ways and Means Trade Subcommittee to push for equal inspections at the borders to ensure that products like these are not held up.

Fueling Minnesota stopped by the office to discuss year-round E15 and biofuel production. I was excited to share that the House had passed legislation the night before our meeting! We also discussed the Higher Blends Infrastructure Incentive Program (HBIIP) funding I secured for fuel retailers. This funding will increase sales and use of higher ethanol and biodiesel blends by expanding renewable fuel infrastructure.
