Dear Friend:

House Republicans are continuing to deliver on the priorities that matter most to Western Minnesota. Last week, we focused on protecting your hard-earned tax dollars against rampant fraud, standing up for families, and supporting our ag industry.

Delivering Fraud Protections

House Republicans took action to protect hard-earned tax dollars and end fraud draining our public programs. Weak state-level oversight of federal programs has allowed fraudsters to steal billions in tax dollars, including $9 billion in Minnesota alone.

To shut down these scams and hold bad actors accountable, we passed two key bills:

  • The PROOF Act stops state agencies from hiding information from federal investigations. It requires state administrators to share real-time payment data for programs like Medicaid and SNAP with federal law enforcement during fraud investigations, while keeping strict privacy protections for law-abiding citizens.
  • The National Fraud Enforcement Division Act creates a permanent fraud-fighting division within the Department of Justice. This gives federal prosecutors the long-term tools and authority they need to find and convict criminals.

With my position on the Rules Committee, I was able to lead a debate on the House Floor for these bills. To hear my full closing remarks on how we're fighting to protect your money and restore integrity in these programs, listen here or below:

Empowering Moms

I am proud to share that my legislation, the Empowering Moms Act, passed out of the House Ways and Means Committee!

Expecting and new mothers deserve easy access to compassionate care, material support, and clear medical information. My bill codifies Moms.gov as a one-stop resource for parents, connecting women in our communities directly to local pregnancy resource centers, adoption services, healthcare providers, and key support programs.

We must do everything in our power to walk alongside mothers before and after their children are born. By improving access to maternal health and wellness resources, the Empowering Moms Act gives women and families the real support they need to choose life.

Fueling Growth in Minnesota Biofuels

I had the opportunity to speak with growers, producers, and industry leaders at two bioeconomy events: the Growth Energy Biofuels Summit, where I was honored to receive the 2026 Biofuels Champion - Fueling Growth Award, and the National Corn Growers Association's Biobased Breakfast.

At both events, we focused on the road ahead for the Farm Bill and year-round E15, and I urged attendees to push the Senate on both items. I also highlighted my bipartisan legislation, the Biobased Materials Investment and Production Act, which supports American farmers and manufacturers by incentivizing companies that use American-grown crops to create renewable biomaterials.

Whether expanding year-round E15, delivering a solid Farm Bill, or opening new domestic markets for biomanufacturing, I will keep leading the fight for our agricultural producers!

Shutting Down Impeachment Efforts

Last week, I voted to shut down House Democrats' latest attempt to impeach President Donald Trump.

House Democrats showed the American people exactly who they are and what they plan to do if they take the majority in the upcoming midterm elections. Instead of focusing on real issues, like securing our elections and cracking down on taxpayer fraud, House Democrats are stuck in a state of outrage.

I will not stand by while Democrats waste time on political theater. I gladly voted to shut down this ridiculous attack on the President and will continue to fight alongside Republicans and Trump to keep our government focused on the priorities that matter to the people of Western Minnesota.

Should Congress stop partisan impeachment efforts against President Trump?
