Dear Arthur,

Last week, instead of sending hostages home to their families, Hamas murdered six in cold blood, including American citizen Hersh Goldberg-Polin.  Hamas could bring an end to the war at any time. Tragically, they do not want peace, they want unending war and bloodshed.  We must ensure Israel is able to fully eliminate this horrific terrorist group.

It has now been three years since the Biden-Harris Administration’s utterly disastrous withdrawal from Afghanistan. This shameful capitulation to the Taliban will not be forgotten. We pray for those who lost their lives as a result of this withdrawal, as well as all those tragically abandoned.

Today the Foreign Affairs Committee released a comprehensive report on the withdrawal from Afghanistan and it confirmed our worst fears.  The Biden-Harris Administration was determined to withdraw at any cost.  They prioritized optics over security, and refused to take even basic precautions that would have kept our troops on the ground safe.  That led directly to the bombing at Abbey Gate and full takeover by the Taliban.  The Biden-Harris Administration has weakened American foreign policy for a generation and emboldened bad actors globally.

There is a crisis at our Southern border and the Biden-Harris Administration has only made it worse.  Their open border policies have allowed illegal immigrants to come into our nation unimpeded, bringing with them drug smugglers and criminals.  A recent report by the Inspector general of the Department of Homeland Security found almost 300,000 illegal immigrant children are unaccounted for, all under the so-called leadership of border czar Kamala Harris.  Many of these children will be trafficked or exploited in other ways and we will not stand for such vile and heartbreaking actions.  Read more about this crisis here.

I joined my colleagues in calling on the Department of Homeland Security to provide an update on the creation of the Organized Retail Crime Coordination Center. Retail crime has been a major issue over the past several years and has caused many business to close or provide reduced services.  Our communities deserve to have these crimes taken seriously and properly investigated so perpetrators can be caught and sentenced appropriately.
