Big, Beautiful Wins for Montana

ImageWestern Montana Congressman Ryan Zinke voted to pass the Budget Reconciliation Bill, also known as the “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” a historic win for Montana families, small businesses, and the America First agenda. The legislation delivers on key campaign promises to make life affordable, cut taxes, secure the border, and strengthen essential services; all while protecting public lands. Congressman Zinke successfully led the effort to remove the public land sales provision from the House version of the bill before voting for final passage. The “One Big Beautiful Bill” now heads to President Trump’s desk for his signature.

“Montanans are struggling to pay their bills, our borders were wide open, and the essential services our citizens rely on were failing,” said Zinke. “Montanans asked for change last November, and today we delivered. This is a win for hardworking Montanans and a win for the country. The bill puts Americans first, delivers real tax relief, secures the border, and protects our public lands from being sold off to the highest bidder. I was never going to back down when it came to public land sales and I’m never going to give up the fight to deliver for Montana. Today we won, and I look forward to the President signing this historic legislation into law.”

Bicameral Resolution Removing Harmful Miles City RMPA and Promoting Montana Clean Coal

Representative Ryan Zinke (MT-01) along with U.S. Senators Steve Daines, Tim Sheehy, and Rep. Troy Downing (MT-02) introduced a bicameral resolution disapproving and removing the Bureau of Land Management’s 2024 Miles City Resource Management Plan Amendment (RMPA). The Miles City RMPA effectively ends future coal leasing within the Miles City Field Office planning area, which will have an adverse impact on Montana’s jobs, economy, and energy security.

“The only way we can achieve true American Energy Dominance is when we utilize all-of-the-above forms of energy to include Montana’s clean coal. Coal provides reliable, abundant and affordable baseload power. Our economy and people have always relied on Montana’s clean coal and that is only going to increase with the advancement of AI, data centers and population growth,” said Zinke.

Zinke Sends a Letter Addressing Unfair Trade Practices on Montana-Alberta Tie Line

ImageRepresentative Ryan Zinke (MT-01) along with U.S. Senators Steve Daines, Tim Sheehy, and Rep. Troy Downing (MT-02) sent a letter July 8th to U.S. Trade Representative Jamieson Greer drawing attention to trade barriers on the Montana-Alberta Tie Line (MATL).

The letter read:

“We write to call to your attention ongoing and escalating discriminating trade practices imposed by the Alberta Electric System Operator (AESO) against Montana energy firms trading in the Alberta electricity market. If unaddressed, these measures may impose significant economic harm on American energy producers, jeopardize the reliability of cross-border electricity infrastructure, and perpetuate discriminatory trade practices that undermine domestic energy security…
