During the Natural Resources Committee meeting, I asked Secretary Burgum about the future of American coal, our efforts to reclaim energy leadership, and the importance of safeguarding well-paying mining jobs in Montana. Coal continues to be essential for the energy security, economic competitiveness, and reliability of our power grid in the United States.
I also introduced legislation in the U.S. House of Representatives to authorize construction of the Dry-Redwater rural water system, helping deliver clean and reliable water to communities across eastern Montana. U.S. Senators Steve Daines and Tim Sheehy introduced companion legislation in the U.S. Senate.
