Task Force Hosts Second Gentleman Doug Emhoff for Administration Update
Task Force Co-Chairs Representatives Kathy Manning (D-NC), Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA), Ted Lieu (D-CA), and Grace Meng (D-NY) welcomed the Second Gentleman, Doug Emhoff, to the Capitol on January 12th for a discussion about efforts to combat growing antisemitism and hate nationwide. The Second Gentleman will visit Krakow, Poland, and Berlin, Germany later this month with Ambassador Deborah Lipstadt, the U.S. Special Envoy to Monitor and Combat Antisemitism.
Task Force Hosts Briefing With FBI Officials
Following the release of the FBI's 2021 Annual Hate Crime Statistics report, Task Force members met with senior officials from the FBI to express their concerns about the missing data and underreporting from police departments across the country.

Following Task Force Letter, White House Establishes Inter-Agency Group to Combat Antisemitism
The House and Senate Bipartisan Task Forces for Combating Antisemitism led 125 Members of Congress in sending a bipartisan and bicameral letter to President Biden calling for inter-agency coordination to combat antisemitism.
Following their letter, the Administration announced the establishment of an Inter-Agency Group to Counter Antisemitism.

Task Force Co-chairs Meet with UK Members of Parliament
Task Force Co-chairs Representatives Kathy Manning (D-NC), Randy Weber (R-TX), and Grace Meng (D-NY) met with a delegation of Members of Parliament from the United Kingdom’s All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) Against Antisemitism.
The group discussed challenges facing the Jewish communities in the United States and the UK and ways to increase transatlantic cooperation in the fight against rising antisemitism. Read more about the event here. |
