LEGISLATION OF THE WEEK

Watch my reaction leaving the House Floor after voting against Republicans’ budget resolution here.
The most significant legislative development this week was the vote in the House on a truly dangerous and partisan budget resolution.
Simply put, I voted against this partisan resolution because it is designed to do something really simple and really dangerous: pave the way for trillions of dollars in tax giveaways for big corporations and billionaires, paid for by the biggest cuts to Medicaid in American history.
It will jack up costs – healthcare costs, childcare costs, and food costs – at a moment when prices are already sky-high. Tens of thousands of people across New Hampshire risk losing access to the basic care and services they need. And that’s not all: this partisan resolution faced bipartisan opposition because it will set us up for the largest deficit increase in American history.
This resolution is bad for New Hampshire. Now, the House and the Senate have to formalize the details of this legislation and where Republicans’ massive cuts will come from. Every step of the way, I’ll be fighting to protect the programs that people across New Hampshire rely on. So the battle continues, and I’ll never stop fighting for New Hampshire.
I will always stand up and fight for your right to join a union and negotiate for a fair deal.
The Trump Administration is waging the most vicious attack on workers in American history.
In Congress, we are fighting back. I’m proud to be working with our union brothers and sisters to get the bipartisan Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act across the finish line.
We will never give up because when our unions are strong, New Hampshire is strong.
