Friends,

It’s been a busy week in Congress. I hope you’ll consider following me on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, and Twitter for more real-time updates on my work. In the meantime, here’s a recap of some of the latest developments from this week.

LEGISLATION OF THE WEEK

Image

Watch my reaction leaving the House Floor after voting against Republicans’ budget resolution here.

The most significant legislative development this week was the vote in the House on a truly dangerous and partisan budget resolution.

Simply put, I voted against this partisan resolution because it is designed to do something really simple and really dangerous: pave the way for trillions of dollars in tax giveaways for big corporations and billionaires, paid for by the biggest cuts to Medicaid in American history.

It will jack up costs – healthcare costs, childcare costs, and food costs – at a moment when prices are already sky-high. Tens of thousands of people across New Hampshire risk losing access to the basic care and services they need. And that’s not all: this partisan resolution faced bipartisan opposition because it will set us up for the largest deficit increase in American history.

This resolution is bad for New Hampshire. Now, the House and the Senate have to formalize the details of this legislation and where Republicans’ massive cuts will come from. Every step of the way, I’ll be fighting to protect the programs that people across New Hampshire rely on. So the battle continues, and I’ll never stop fighting for New Hampshire.

ImageI will always stand up and fight for your right to join a union and negotiate for a fair deal.

The Trump Administration is waging the most vicious attack on workers in American history.

In Congress, we are fighting back. I’m proud to be working with our union brothers and sisters to get the bipartisan Public Service Freedom to Negotiate Act across the finish line.

We will never give up because when our unions are strong, New Hampshire is strong.

VIDEO OF THE WEEK

I’m proud to help launch the Monopoly Busters caucus to break up monopolies and ensure you get a fair deal.

Monopolies are making our state and our country less safe, less free, and less affordable. Hardworking people across New Hampshire are paying the price for corporate waste, fraud, and abuse.

I’ve been on the frontlines of the fight to check monopoly power and deliver a fair deal for New Hampshire my whole career — from the Justice Department to the White House. And here in the People’s House, I’m proud to be working with colleagues from across the country to continue this fight for New Hampshire.

PHOTO OF THE WEEK

ImageDuring a House Armed Services Committee hearing this week, I pressed General Cavoli about the importance of our NATO and European allies.

General Cavoli and I agree: The United States has a national security interest in the survival and strength of the NATO Alliance and our European allies, including Ukraine.

The Trump Administration’s attempt to unravel decades of bipartisan work to strengthen these transatlantic partnerships is downright dangerous.

Watch my line of questioning about the importance of European allies for the United States here.

LETTER OF THE WEEK

Image

I will always fight to deliver the funding that New Hampshire was promised.

Congress appropriated $80 million to the people of New Hampshire to address our most pressing public health challenges, including the opioid epidemic and our mental health crisis. The Trump Administration’s effort to claw it back now does nothing but hurt Granite Staters and put your health and safety at risk.

I joined Senator Jeanne Shaheen, Senator Maggie Hassan, and Congressman Chris Pappas in calling on Secretary Kennedy to immediately restore these funds.

HOW CAN WE HELP

Our team is here to help you. Whether you need support navigating a federal agency or help with a military academy nomination, we are here to serve you. Please get in touch by calling 603-226-1002 or by visiting Goodlander.House.Gov.

If you have been impacted by – or are concerned you may have been impacted by – a recent change in a federal policy or program, I want to hear from you. Please share your story here. The Trump Administration is issuing new executive actions and orders every day that are hurting hardworking Granite Staters. Your stories are one of the most powerful tools I have to fight back against the harm these actions are inflicting on our communities.

If you have witnessed potential wrongdoing under the Trump Administration, please report it to the House Oversight Committee here.

The U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia has issued an injunction commanding Elon Musk and DOGE to comply with the citizen requests under the Freedom of Information Act. This law encompasses the Federal Privacy Act of 1974, which entitles any citizen to access personal information held in any U.S. government records system. DOGE has an obligation to respond to specific information demands from any U.S. citizen who exercises their legal right to defend their privacy and establish the security of their private information. If you’d like to complete this form, please find it on my website here.

Finally, a quick reminder: It’s the final few days of tax season, New Hampshire. The IRS Direct File tool is open and available for folks in New Hampshire. Learn more and see if you qualify. Don’t forget, the deadline to file or request an extension is April 15, 2025.

Sincerely,
