HONORING AND DELIVERING FOR NEW HAMPSHIRE’S VETERANS
I want to start this week’s newsletter by reflecting on Memorial Day and honoring the incredible sacrifices our service members, veterans, and their families make for our state and our country every day.
America is the land of the free because of the brave men and women who gave their lives in service of the American people, past, present, and future.
Our fallen American heroes will never be forgotten.
Last week, I was honored to be with fellow citizens — veterans, military families, servicemembers — from across New Hampshire on the hallowed ground of our State Veterans Cemetery in Boscawen to honor truly honorable Americans: our fallen heroes.
The memory of every fallen American hero is our blessing. I’ll never stop working to be worthy of their memory and to fulfill a sacred obligation that unites us as Americans: to care for and support in every way that we can every veteran, every servicemember, and every military family.
I was humbled to stand with New Hampshire veterans, service members, and military families at the Manchester VA Medical Center on Memorial Day to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country.
I really believe that we are what we remember — as individuals and as a nation.
In Concord on Memorial Day, I saw firsthand that our sense of service here in New Hampshire is strong, from our youngest neighbors to our oldest.
On Memorial Day, it was an honor to be with hundreds of fellow Granite Staters at events across New Hampshire, from Concord to Manchester to Hudson, to remember the brave women and men who loved our country and served it well and faithfully in uniform.

We owe these patriots and their loved ones a debt of gratitude that we can never fully repay.
We have a sacred obligation to ensure that our veterans have the support they need to thrive and enjoy the freedoms they fought for while serving our country in uniform. Last week, I spent time at the White River Junction VA Medical Center, which serves thousands of veterans across New Hampshire.
To all of New Hampshire’s brave veterans, service members, and their families, thank you.
During the visit, I met with a wide range of VA providers and VA employees at the medical center, including members of AFGE Local 2604, and heard directly about the impacts of pending and potential federal funding cuts and contract cancellations on the critical care they provide to our veterans.
I’m proud to bring the voices of New Hampshire’s unions to Congress.
I am proud to be fighting for the resources our veterans need in Congress and on the House Armed Services Committee. Learn more about my work to deliver for our veterans here.

We must never forget the sacrifice of the veterans who came before us. I visited a powerful exhibit at the New Hampshire State House honoring 50 years since the end of the Vietnam War with my fellow Navy veteran, Gary Gordon.
Gary is one of the thousands of disabled veterans who would benefit from legislation I am proud to lead called the ASSIST Act, a common-sense bill that will cut the needless red tape that has prevented veterans from getting the medically necessary equipment they need to travel safely. He’s why I will never give up this fight.
I’m fighting to get the ASSIST Act over the finish line for veterans like Gary.
