Friends,

It’s another busy week fighting for the people of New Hampshire in Congress.

For real-time updates on my work, I hope you’ll follow me on Facebook, Instagram, Threads, Bluesky, Twitter, and YouTube.

A BIG, BRUTAL BILL

I read every bill that we vote on here in the United States House of Representatives, and that’s why I’m a hard no on H.R. 1 — the Big, Brutal budget bill that Republicans are jamming through Congress.

The bill will add trillions to America’s already sky-high debt to pay for tax giveaways to billionaires who don’t need them. Millions of Americans will lose their healthcare, and everyone’s costs will go up.

I’m a hard no on this legislation and am using every tool I have to push back against this disastrous bill.

Last night, I waited for hours to testify for five minutes in the House Rules Committee — the last and only congressional committee standing between the people of New Hampshire and President Trump’s Big, Brutal Bill.

Watch my full testimony from the House Rules Committee here.

The brutality of this bill can be measured in the lives of millions of hardworking Americans that will be upended when they are forced to pay the price for trillions of dollars in tax giveaways for billionaires.

Thank you to everyone who came to discuss how this legislation will impact their patients. Watch my full video on the conversation here.

On Tuesday, I sat down with providers and advocates from across the region at Wanderlust Therapeutics in Nashua to discuss how these cuts will impact their services and the care they can provide their patients.

Watch my conversation with Protect Our Care NH here.

I hear it from people all across New Hampshire: The GOP’s proposed healthcare cuts — the biggest in American history — would be devastating for our state.

I had an important conversation last week with Protect Our Care New Hampshire about how we can protect the healthcare you and hardworking families across our state need and deserve.

Watch the conversation here.

TACKLING THE COST CRISIS

Image

Watch my full remarks about tackling the cost crisis here.

The cost crisis in this country is standing between hardworking people and the American Dream. I hear it everywhere I go — from housing to groceries to child care to healthcare — prices are too high, and families are struggling to make ends meet. President Trump’s lawless and chaotic trade wars are doing nothing but making the cost crisis worse.

I led Congress in taking steps to change that by launching the Lowering Costs Caucus. I am focused on tackling the cost crisis that is standing between hardworking people and the American Dream.

Learn more about the Lowering Costs Caucus and my work to bring down sky-high prices here.

DELIVERING FOR OUR VETERANS

Watch my full remarks on the House Floor fighting for New Hampshire's veterans here.

New Hampshire is the only state in the contiguous United States without a full-service hospital for our veterans. We have to do better for the 88,000 American heroes who call New Hampshire home.

Last week, the House passed my amendment to pave the way for a full-service VA hospital in the Granite State, taking an important step towards delivering the healthcare our veterans need and have earned.

I am working with Congressman Chris Pappas to lead the Veterans Full-Service Care and Access Act, legislation that would require the VA to operate, at minimum, one full-service Veterans Health Administration hospital within each state in the contiguous 48 states. Learn more about the fight to expand veterans’ access to the healthcare they have earned here

It was wonderful to be with Gary Gordon and other New Hampshire veterans who made this exhibit possible.

We owe America’s Vietnam Veterans a debt of gratitude that we can never fully repay. It was an honor to pay my respects to these American heroes in Claremont, NH, last week at the Wall That Heals.

I’m truly grateful to the incredible team of volunteers for the labor of love they undertook to share this healing memorial with us all.

HONORING OUR FALLEN HEROES

Learn more about the life and legacy of Lt. Jess Wyman here. Learn more about the life and legacy of Lt. Aaron Cooper here.

These two New Hampshire heroes lost their lives to lung cancer that they developed in the line of duty. Their families and loved ones deserve the benefits they have earned while serving our communities, but a gap in federal law is standing in their way.

Watch my full remarks on how Congress must deliver for these American heroes here.

Congress must pass the Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act, H.R. 1269, bipartisan, bicameral legislation I am proud to help lead to close this gap and finally deliver for these American heroes and their families.

Image

Proud to work alongside Lt. Chris Wyman to get this over the finish line.

Lt. Jess Wyman lived by an inspiring motto: Tell me and I forget, show me and I remember, involve me and I understand.

To her dedicated husband and fierce advocate, Lieutenant Chris Wyman, thank you from the bottom of my heart for involving me in this cause. By making the Honoring Our Fallen Heroes Act the law of the land, the United States Congress would be doing something worthy of being remembered. That’s why I’ll never stop fighting to get this done.

SUPPORTING NEW HAMPSHIRE’S SMALL BUSINESSES

Strengthening our critical mineral and rare earth supply chains is key for American national security, as these materials play an essential role in our defense industry. Small businesses across America and New Hampshire are ready to lead the charge.

Last week in the House Small Business Committee, I questioned experts about the state of our critical minerals industry and spoke about Soldier Systems D-MIL in Gilsum, an innovative company that is recycling Germanium and contributing to our economy and security. Watch my remarks advocating for New Hampshire small businesses here.

I visited Soldier Systems D-MIL in Gilsum earlier this year.

But, President Trump’s unlawful trade wars are putting the opportunities that exist under threat. That’s why I’m fighting back against the chaos and using every tool I have — from legislation to litigation — to create stability for our country and our small businesses.

Read more about this funding to deliver for New Hampshire manufacturers here.

Earlier this month, I helped announce that the New Hampshire Manufacturing Extension Partnership (NH MEP) will receive $924,376 in funding to help New Hampshire’s small and medium-sized manufacturers.

This federal funding is going to strengthen the economic and national security of hardworking people across our state. I’ve been on the frontlines of the fight to protect and strengthen the Manufacturing Extension Partnership because in the midst of lawless and costly trade wars that threaten to put small businesses out of business, these investments will actually bring good-paying manufacturing jobs back to New Hampshire.

KEEPING AMERICA AND NEW HAMPSHIRE SAFE

Watch my full remarks announcing the National Security Task Force here.

In my 11 years of service as an intelligence officer in the United States Navy Reserve, I saw firsthand why the framers of our Constitution gave Congress an essential role in our national security and matters of war and peace. There is no more consequential decision than whether or not to get American troops involved in a war.

Last week, I was proud to help launch the National Security Task Force in Congress, a group of members focused on no-nonsense solutions to keeping the American people safe and strengthening our national security.

The situation in the Middle East is ongoing, and I am closely monitoring developments. Learn more about my work protecting our national security, advocating for American military personnel, and asserting congressional authority over war powers here.

Read more about this funding to improve water for disadvantaged communities here.

New Hampshire cannot thrive without access to safe, reliable drinking water, free from forever chemicals like PFAS.

Earlier this month, I helped announce $9.4 million from the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to help Granite State communities and private well owners address contamination from per- and poly-fluoroalkyl substances (PFAS). This federal funding will make life better for hardworking people across our state, and I’ll never stop fighting to deliver every penny of federal funding that the people of New Hampshire were promised.

RESTORING YOUR REPRODUCTIVE FREEDOMS

Image

Read my full statement on this anniversary here.

Last week marked the third anniversary of the United States Supreme Court ruling in Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization, overturning the longstanding protections of Roe v. Wade.

As a daughter of the Live Free or Die state, I know women in America cannot live freely without full control of our bodies and full access to reproductive and maternal health care. When the United States Supreme Court overturned Roe v. Wade, they sent us back in time by generations. That decision had serious consequences for women and families across our country, sending us back to medieval times for women’s health in the United States of America.

That’s why, in Congress, I am fighting with everything I’ve got to restore reproductive freedom and build a reliable, affordable system of health care for all Granite Staters.

I was proud to help introduce the Women’s Health Protection Act, much-needed legislation to re-establish a nationwide right to access abortion care throughout the United States. Read more about my work fighting for reproductive freedom here

CONVERSATIONS WITH GRANITE STATERS

Listen to my conversation with Andy DeMeo here.

Even in the darkest of times, there is goodness all around us.

It was wonderful to join the Granite Goodness podcast to discuss my work representing New Hampshire in the People’s House, the sense of patriotism that defines our state, and so much more.

Claremont gave it up for America’s favorite fighting Frenchman.

Last week, I joined my fellow Granite Staters and the Claremont Historical Society for the 200th anniversary of Major General Gilbert Motier, Marquis de Lafayette's visit to Claremont during his “Guest of the Nation” farewell tour.

Lafayette represented the strength of international partners and allies and the opportunities that can be created through the bonds we share with other nations.

Those lessons ring true today.
