FIGHTING TO PROTECT YOUR HEALTHCARE
New Hampshire’s public servants are paying the price for our broken healthcare system and the GOP’s historic cuts to it in H.R. 1, their Big, Brutal Budget.

New Hampshire could not function without our local leaders and administrators.
During my visit with community leaders and elected officials in Milford earlier this week, I heard about the devastating impact of SchoolCare asking our public schools and communities to cover a $30 million gap because healthcare costs have increased so drastically.
We had a wide-ranging discussion about how we can work together to lower healthcare costs and deliver for hardworking families.
Let me be very clear: no matter how you get your healthcare, your costs are going up because of the GOP’s Big, Brutal Budget. I’m working with every tool I’ve got to fix our broken system, protect your care, and lower your costs that are rising across the board.
Health-related costs are going up across the board, including a 323% increase in healthcare deductibles since 2005. Read the full NHFPI report here.
These Republican cuts come as America was already dealing with a broken healthcare system. Since 2005, healthcare deductibles have increased a staggering 323%. This financial burden means that most people in our state – more than 70% – are delaying or going without the healthcare they need.
Instead of working for families, the GOP’s Big, Brutal Budget is prioritizing billionaires and big corporations, including by costing American taxpayers an astonishing $8.8 billion by eliminating Medicare’s authority to negotiate with Big Pharma and lower costs for you and your family.

People over profits – not the other way around.
Any time a corporation puts profits over people’s basic health and safety, there needs to be accountability. That’s why I am helping to lead an investigation into Genesis HealthCare's private equity bankruptcy. Genesis appears to be attempting to use our bankruptcy system to escape liability, leaving people and businesses in the lurch.

People over profits - not the other way around.
The families devastated by Genesis HealthCare deserve answers, and I won’t stop until I get them.

Mental health is healthcare. Period.

We owe a sacred debt to our nation’s veterans.
I cannot think of a more worthy cause than Operation Delta Dog. This past week, I joined them to honor the work that they do to connect our brave veterans with service dogs who deliver life-saving and life-changing care.

I’m working with everything I’ve got to harness all the support for veterans I can from the United States Congress.

When mental health challenges go unaddressed, they can often lead people to substance abuse and addiction. Access to substance abuse and mental health resources is critical and essential, yet the Trump Administration continues to attack access to these services.

We must return these employees to their lifesaving work.
This week, Congressman Chris Pappas and I joined forces with dozens of our colleagues in Congress to call on Secretary Kennedy to reverse mass layoffs that have decimated essential staff at the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA). These public servants must be returned to their life-saving work immediately.

You are not alone.
This Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we recommit to supporting and fighting for our loved ones touched by cancer.
Before taking the oath of office, I served in the White House, where I led the Unity Agenda for the Nation, dedicated to solving big challenges that unite all Americans, including ending cancer as we know it. Breast cancer has touched nearly every family across our country, including my own. As your Congresswoman, I am fighting to protect the treatments and research that are saving lives.

In July, I had the honor of participating in the Prouty – walking and biking alongside fellow Granite Staters in the fight against cancer.
