Today,  Congressman Jamaal Bowman, Ed.D (NY-16) issued the following statement in response to the retraction of a Congressional Progressive Caucus letter sent to President Biden asking for him to proactively pursue diplomatic options for ending the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. 

“Ever since tensions increased between Russia and Ukraine, I have been completely behind supporting the Ukrainian people,” said Congressman Jamaal Bowman, Ed.D (NY-16). “I have supported more than $50 billion in military and humanitarian aid to Ukraine this year alone. Alongside continued support, I stand by the idea that we should partner with Ukraine to explore just, diplomatic solutions to the conflict. We must always carefully evaluate the risks of escalation and protracted war – and in our democracy, discussion of diplomacy should never be off the table. ”
