Dear Daniel,

ICE under the Trump administration's policies is out of control. Masked agents tearing apart families, raiding schools, even shooting American citizens - this isn’t who we are, it doesn’t make us safer, and I won't support it.

That’s why I’m demanding the Administration comply with a full, independent investigation into the killings in Minnesota. No one is above the law, especially those sworn to uphold it. 

It’s why I’m backing H.R. 4176, the No Secret Police Act, to ban federal agents from wearing masks and require them to clearly identify themselves, because accountability and transparency aren't optional in America. 

It's why I voted against the DHS funding bill that green-lights ICE operations.

And it’s why today I’m backing articles of impeachment to remove Kristi Noem from office.

I’m with the majority of Upstate New Yorkers who reject the extremes. We want an immigration system that’s tough and fair: If someone is here unlawfully and commits a violent crime, they should be removed. But if someone is working hard, paying taxes, and contributing to our community, they should have a chance to earn legal status. That’s common sense.

I’ll keep fighting for an immigration system that treats people with dignity, protects families, and upholds the values of justice and compassion that define our country at its best.
