Dear Friend,
I'd like to share some exciting news with you today.
Earlier this month, the first bill I introduced in Congress passed the House of Representatives with unanimous, bipartisan support!
For decades, the Confederated Tribes of Grand Ronde have been trying to fix a survey error that denies them the right to pursue land claims. My bill will finally correct this historical wrong. And it will be enormously consequential both for the Grand Ronde Community and for Indigenous peoples' rights in Oregon and across the country.

I'm hopeful the Senate will swiftly pass this bill and send it to President Biden to become law.
In the meantime, I'm thankful for the support of Senator Jeff Merkley and the entire Oregon delegation, my colleagues on both sides of the aisle, and the many stakeholders who helped make this a reality.

Be well,
