Dear Friend,

Happy Immigrant Heritage Month! Whether you immigrated to this country recently or your family has been here for generations, I am sure you won't have to look far to find someone in your life who has immigrant roots. 

As a first-generation American and the daughter of an immigrant from Mexico, this is personal to me. And as your Congresswoman, I am committed to honoring the diverse cultures, rich histories, and invaluable contributions that immigrants have made to the fabric of our nation.

Again, my family's story is just one of countless others here in Oregon and across the country that make up the immigrant experience. Every immigrant story is unique—and they all deserve to be told.

This Immigrant Heritage Month, I am so proud to celebrate our immigrant communities—and I will keep working to ensure that everyone who works hard and wants to contribute to our country can live out the American dream to the fullest.
