Navigating government agencies can be frustrating and time-consuming. If you are facing a roadblock with a federal agency like Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, or the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), my office can step in and work to get you the answers you deserve.

Here are some areas where my team and I can provide support:

  • Answers and guidance on general questions about federal agencies.
  • Help with VA services, including health care and family benefits.
  • Ask for a status update on your Social Security benefits or disability claims
  • Guidance with the U.S. Passport Agency and visa applications.
  • Assistance with the Internal Revenue Service (IRS) and federal tax concerns.
  • …and more.

During my first term alone, our office has successfully closed over 1,000 cases and returned hundreds of thousands of taxpayer dollars directly to you and your neighbors. While we cannot guarantee a favorable outcome, my team will work diligently to advocate on your behalf.

Here are just a few examples of constituents who contacted my office and got the assistance they needed:

Alternatively, you can call us at (503) 385-0906. We have veterans and Spanish speakers on staff who are ready and willing to assist you.

Please have the following items ready to help streamline the casework process:

  • Your home address, which must be located within the boundaries of Oregon’s Sixth Congressional District. If you’re unsure about your congressional district, click here to find out.
  • Your phone number.
  • Your email address.
  • Your date of birth.
  • Your Social Security number for cases involving Social Security.
  • Your VA claim number for cases with the Department of Veterans Affairs.
  • Your taxpayer identification number (or Social Security number, if you are an individual) for issues related to the IRS.
  • Copies of any related documents or correspondence you may have from the agency involved.

After you have filed your case, a caseworker from my team will contact you to discuss next steps. While our office is committed to resolving cases in a timely manner, please note that each case is unique and the timeline may vary.

We will keep you informed about any progress or changes regarding your case and equip you with the information you need to resolve your issue. Our caseworkers will reach out to the relevant federal agency, work directly with them to answer questions, cut through red tape, and escalate any persisting issues as needed. We will inform you if and when your issue has been resolved, or if there is any additional information we need to resolve your case.

I want you to know that my office is committed to helping you with even the most complex cases. Please don’t hesitate to reach out for assistance or with any questions you may have. You can call us at (503) 385-0906 or visit my website at salinas.house.gov
