Dear Friend,
I know that so many of our neighbors are facing high costs everywhere from child care to groceries to rent. These costs are forcing some to make impossible decisions between things like paying for medications or putting food on the table.
President Trump made big promises about lowering prices on day one. After one year in office, it is clear that he lied. Between his disastrous tariffs and Republicans’ Big, Ugly Bill, Trump has only driven up your costs.
It’s not just families Trump is hurting. I recently spoke about the impact he is also having on our businesses and livelihoods in Oregon, like our world-class wineries. Listen by clicking here or below.
This week, I partnered with my colleagues in the New Democrat Coalition to launch our new plan to make life more affordable for you and your neighbors. In 2025, Oregon families paid an extra $1,791 toward higher costs, but our solutions will ease that financial pressure — on everything from housing to groceries to child care — so families can breathe easier. Look below for more details, or click the link HERE to learn more about how I am working toward real solutions.

Americans want President Trump and Republicans to focus on lowering costs. Instead, they are pouring money into rapidly expanding ICE detention facilities across the country while slashing billions for Medicaid and SNAP through their Big, Ugly Bill. As a result, ICE now has a detention system with a budget larger than the entire federal prison system.
This week, Senator Jeff Merkley and I led Oregon’s Democratic congressional delegation in a letter to the Trump Administration opposing their plans to build an ICE detention facility in Newport, Oregon, and demanding additional information about the proposed facility. You deserve the truth, and our communities deserve peace and safety.
