Dear Friend,
I’ve had a busy few weeks working on behalf of you and your neighbors. Follow along to see what I’ve been up to across the Willamette Valley and in Washington, D.C.
One of the top issues I hear about from people across our district is that life is too expensive. That’s why, along with my colleagues in the New Democrat Coalition, I rolled out a plan to lower costs for families. From health care to groceries to housing, we are working to lower your costs and help end Trump’s unaffordability crisis.

I’ve also continued pushing back against the Trump Administration’s tariffs that are driving up prices across the board — but the good news is that the Supreme Court ruled today that his reckless tariffs are unconstitutional. Read more about what I have to say by clicking the link here.
Child care costs are a big part of the affordability challenge, and as a mom, I know how expensive child care can be. On Monday, I was in Salem meeting with parents and child care providers to hear directly about how rising costs are affecting them. I outlined legislation I support that would cap the cost of child care at 7% of a family’s income to ease the financial burden on working families. Watch the video below to learn more.

Last Friday, I spoke at a conference for growers, producers, and processors in the agriculture industry. I shared an update on where things stand with the Farm Bill and what recent legislation means for producers here in Oregon. While some support for commodity and crop insurance programs was included, too many important priorities for our families and rural communities were left out of the bill.
I know this uncertainty makes it harder to plan for the future. That’s why I’m continuing to push for a bipartisan Farm Bill that delivers real stability for Oregon’s families, farmers, and ranchers, and ensures our state’s diverse producers have a strong voice in Washington.

Finally, I recently spoke on the House Floor about how children are being traumatized by this Administration. I read letters from a girl held in ICE detention, and her story is heartbreaking. Take a listen by clicking here or below.
Our great state celebrated its 167th birthday this past weekend. I could not be more proud to serve as one of Oregon’s representatives, and I will keep working to improve the lives of you, your neighbors, and generations of Oregonians to come.
Be well,
Andrea Salinas Member of Congress
