Dear Friend,
Last week, I visited our neighbors across the Willamette Valley where I had conversations with students, local leaders, and organizations that are providing vital resources to our community.
Scroll down to learn about some of the work I am doing for YOU!

At the University of Oregon’s Portland Campus, I met with leaders about expanding the behavioral health workforce so every child can get the support they need. We discussed the university’s groundbreaking work in behavioral health and prevention science and how we can expand programs like this one. It was good to be a Duck for the day!
I met with providers at HYB Counseling in Salem and spoke to two young men whose lives have been changed thanks to the care and support they received. Many of the youth HYB Counseling serve face enormous challenges — including homelessness, disability, and trauma. I also toured the Recovery Outreach Community Center, a peer-run, trauma-informed center committed to helping people heal. These are services that save lives and put people on the path to stability, and visits like these inspire me to keep working to ensure that everyone can access vital mental health care support.
In Monmouth, I met with Mayor Koontz and city leaders to tour their City Hall and their senior center. We had a great time and discussed the need for more affordable housing. Take a listen below to hear more about their plans to make sure seniors can access housing!

One of my most meaningful visits this past week was to David’s House — a transitional home for unhoused teenagers in Monmouth. I heard stories of young people who were experiencing homelessness but were able to find a path towards their goals. Some of them are now preparing for college and building futures that once felt out of reach. These stories are a reminder how life-changing stable housing and consistent support can be.
FUNDING SECURED: I secured $750,000 for Newberg for their water treatment plant, ensuring that the city maintains a safe and clean supply of water.

FUNDING SECURED: I delivered $850,000 to Keizer to construct new sidewalks that create a safer route for Keizer’s children to walk to school.
