Last week, I was proud to recognize the people, organizations, and businesses that make Western Pennsylvania such a special place to live and work. From supporting our veterans and celebrating BC3’s 60 years of service to promoting employee ownership and strengthening American shipbuilding, I remain focused on creating opportunities and delivering results for our region.

Connecting veterans with resources in Meadville

On Thursday, my team and I joined Crawford County Veterans Services to host our annual Veteran Resource Fair at the Downtown Mall in Meadville.

More than 50 organizations and agencies attended to answer questions, provide information, and connect veterans, active-duty service members, and their families with important services and resources.

Our veterans have sacrificed so much to protect our country, and we have a responsibility to ensure they receive the support they have earned. Thank you to Crawford County Veterans Services, all of the participating organizations, and everyone who joined us for this year’s event.

Touring employee-owned businesses in Butler County

I recently toured three employee-owned businesses in Butler County: Penn United Technologies in Cabot, FBC Chemical Corporation in Butler, and Nicklas Supply/Splash Kitchen in Cranberry Township.

During each visit, I met with company leaders and employee-owners to learn more about their operations, workplace cultures, and transitions to employee ownership. I also saw firsthand how Employee Stock Ownership Plans, commonly known as ESOPs, can help businesses remain locally owned while giving employees a direct stake in their companies’ success.

Employee-owned businesses support good-paying jobs, reward hardworking employees, and help preserve the companies that strengthen our local communities. Thank you to everyone who welcomed me and shared their employee-ownership stories.

Honoring BC3’s 60 years of service to our community

I am proud to recognize Butler County Community College as it celebrates 60 years of serving students and strengthening our region.

Since its founding, BC3 has provided generations of students with an affordable, high-quality education while preparing them for successful careers and continued academic opportunities. The college has also remained a valuable partner to local employers by helping build the skilled workforce our communities need.

It is my honor to present BC3 with a congressional commendation recognizing this important milestone and six decades of service to Butler County and Western Pennsylvania. Congratulations to BC3’s students, faculty, staff, alumni, and supporters on 60 outstanding years!

Stops around the region

It was another busy week traveling throughout Pennsylvania’s 16th Congressional District and meeting with the people who keep our communities running.

I visited Cleveland-Cliffs to discuss the importance of protecting American steel, supporting local workers, and strengthening domestic manufacturing.

I met with first responders from Harmony to learn more about their lifesaving work and hear about the needs of our local emergency medical services.

In Slippery Rock, I toured Keystone Veterinary Care and learned more about the services its team provides to animals and families throughout our region.

I also visited JM Eagle’s PVC pipe manufacturing facility in Cochranton, where I met with employees and saw firsthand how products made here in Western Pennsylvania support communities across the country.

Thank you to everyone who welcomed me. It is always an honor to hear directly from the people I represent and learn more about the important work happening across our region.
