Inside the "Behavioral Health Care Deregulation Act of 2026"

As Co-Chair of the Congressional Mental Health Caucus, this week I introduced the Behavioral Health Care Deregulation Act of 2026. This legislation improves mental health care and accessibility for Medicare recipients.

According to a 2025 report from the National Council on Aging, "One in five Americans will experience it in their lifetime. And nearly 15% of adults age 50 and older have some type of mental health disorder."

As more Americans seek mental health treatment, it's important for Congress to address these critical issues as well. The Behavioral Health Care Deregulation Act cuts both the red tape and the stigma surrounding mental health care to ensure American seniors have the care they need in their golden years.

How the "Brews to Barns Act" helps small breweries and local farmers

Image

This week, I introduced the bipartisan "Brews to Barns Act," legislation that would establish a credit against the excise tax on beer for brewers that donate spent grain for local agricultural use.

As a Co-Chair of the House Small Brewers Caucus, I've been fortunate to meet with so many local brewery owners across our district. At their cores, local breweries and farms are small businesses who play integral roles in our communities. The Brews to Barns Act incentivizes a collaborative effort between small breweries and local farmers to strengthen local supply chains. It's a win-win for everyone.

Did you know: Pennsylvania has 538 craft breweries, the second-most of any state in the nation, with 39 breweries in Pennsylvania's 16th Congressional District, according to the Brewers Association.

The Drake Forum brings energy leaders to Venango County

It was great to speak with everyone this week at The Drake Forum in Venango County!

Energy leaders from all over the world are in Western Pennsylvania this week for The Drake Forum to discuss the future of energy and environmental security.

PA-16 is home to the first successful commercial oil well, and Pennsylvanians will continue to lead America's energy dialogues for years to come.

This week's "Congress in the Community" takes us to Route 228 in southern Butler County, where we highlight federal tax dollars at work to improve and expand one of the busiest highways in our district.

Between 2018-2020, my team and I secured $45 million for the "Gateway 228" project. Today, we continue working with federal, state, and local partners to finish Gateway 228's final phase. These are your tax dollars at work right here in PA-16.

Learn more about Gateway 228 on my website, and you can check out the full "Congress in the Community" series on my YouTube channel!
