Big Government is Not the Answer

My fight against President Biden, Speaker Pelosi and Sen. Bernie Sanders' $5.5 trillion socialist spending spree and multi-trillion-dollar tax hikes continued these past two weeks.

Following the meetings of the House Ways & Means Committee earlier this month, last Saturday the House Budget Committee met to consider the $5.5 trillion tax and spend legislation. I was amazed by what I heard from some of my colleagues from the other side of the aisle.

One colleague suggested that job creators were “leading our country into the abyss.” It is clear to me that members of the House Democratic Caucus do not understand how our economy works.

House Democrats believe that big government is the answer to all the nation’s problems. House Republicans believe in limited government providing freedom for the American people to live their lives as they choose. Watch my comments from the House Budget Committee hearing below.

I have never seen such divergent views about how to create prosperity for the American people. The Biden administration has already spent trillions of dollars in the past nine months and now they want to spend trillions more, creating more inflation and adding trillions more to our national debt. Democrats believe they can spend their way to a prosperous economy and are ignoring our national debt.

They are advancing policies that will disincentivize work and create greater dependence on the federal government. Their legislative priorities are endangering the American Dream. The choice before Congress is whether we allow the government to dictate every facet of American life, or will we renew our trust in the American people? I know which side I’m on; I will always side with the American people. Watch my comments by clicking the image below.

Fighting for the Unborn

Last week, I voted against Democrats’ extreme pro-abortion legislation which would unravel state level pro-life protections across the nation, including the commonsense protections that the Pennsylvania General Assembly adopted in the wake of the horrors of murderer Kermit Gosnell. Listen to my thoughts on the legislation and the impact it would have below.
