Much to be Thankful For & Happy Thanksgiving

As we prepare to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday with family and friends this year, I am thankful for so much including having the honor and privilege to represent our community in Congress. I may be biased, but I believe Pennsylvania’s 11th Congressional District is the best of 435 congressional districts across the country. I am thankful for the rights and liberties we enjoy in the greatest nation in the history of the world. I wish you all a relaxing and reflective holiday with family and friends.

Commitment to America

Next year, House Republicans will keep our promises laid out to the American people in our Commitment to America. We will work to ensure that this government is accountable to the taxpayers.

As I recently told Fox News, holding the administration accountable through vigorous oversight is a top priority for House Republicans.

Oversight is a key function of Congress, and we will work to bring transparency to the Biden administration because the American people deserve answers to the many crises facing our nation. We will delve into how President Biden’s spending has led to 40-year high levels of inflation and how his inaction is fueling the humanitarian and national security crisis at our southern border.

We will also examine the Biden administration’s massive spending proposals to ensure there is no waste, fraud, or abuse of taxpayer funds. We know that an estimated $14 billion in unemployment benefits went to fraudsters according to a recent report of the Department of Labor Inspector General.

House Republicans on the Ways and Means Committee are fighting for transparency from the Biden administration, learn more about our efforts here.

Legislation to Honor World War II Veteran Advances

Last week, legislation I introduced to honor the life of Lancaster County World War II Veteran and last known survivor of the Malmedy Massacre, Harold Billow, was unanimously approved by the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.

My legislation would designate the Mount Joy Post Office Building as the “Harold Billow Post Office Building” in honor of Billow, a lifelong Mount Joy resident. I introduced the legislation with the support of the entire Pennsylvania Congressional Delegation.

I want to thank the members of the House Committee on Oversight and Reform for unanimously advancing my legislation to honor an American hero from Pennsylvania’s 11th Congressional District. I look forward to the House approving this bill to honor a true patriot and exceptional member of the Greatest Generation. Click here to learn more.
