July Monthly Grants Newsletter

Dear Friend,

As I vote down in Washington this week, I’m focused on my duty to serve the good people of Western Pennsylvania. We need to restore the American Dream. Toward that goal—I am proud to offer this July Monthly Grants Newsletter to better connect you to tangible resources at the federal level.

As always, my office will continue to track grant announcements in the district and fight to make sure this funding keeps flowing to projects that make life better for us in Western Pennsylvania. If you are the recipient of a federal grant and have been notified that this funding is no longer available to you, or you are experiencing other issues accessing your lawfully appropriated funds, please share your concerns with my office at PA17Grants@mail.house.gov.

Celebrating the Good People of PA-17

This month, I would like to congratulate ObeeWAN Technologies, Inc on their $305,000 grant from the National Science Foundation. This O’Hara Township-based company will be receiving this grant directly from the Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) grant program, specifically to support the development and commercialization of an innovative new technology to help beekeepers maximize their pollinators’ economic, agricultural, and ecological benefit amid a declining honeybee population.

I'm glad to see federal support come to Western PA for this innovative project. To learn more about this PA-17 Highlight, check out the full press release here. You can find out more about the National Science Foundation and SBIR grant funding here.
