August Monthly Grants Newsletter

Dear Friend,

I will always fight to bring home federal dollars to our community. I helped bring back more than $190 million to Western PA in the 2026 federal spending bills, including $850,000 to Penn Hills for the Verona Road Bridge Replacement Project. As we head into the fall, please let me and my team know if we can help you with any federal agency or finding federal funding.

Please know that my team is just a call away to talk through any federal funding concerns you may have. My Grants & Outreach Coordinator, Emma Dawson, can be reached at my Carnegie District Office at (412) 344-5583 or PA17Grants@mail.house.gov.

Very respectfully,

Celebrating the Good People of PA-17

This month, Congressman Deluzio would like to highlight Penn Hills in receiving $850,000 from the U.S. Department of Transportation to help replace and upgrade the bridge on Verona Road.

The Verona Road Bridge Replacement project will help replace the full existing bridge over Sandy Creek between Mt. Carmel Rd and Lincoln Rd. It will be replaced with a new structure to help ensure the safety and reliability of this State Route 2058 corridor. The project will improve any structural deficiencies of the existing bridge, approach roadway to ensure interrupted traffic movements, and reduce ongoing maintenance costs. This project was secured through Congressman Deluzio's FY26 Community Project Funding through the U.S. Department of Transportation. The funding will be administered through PennDOT, which expects the project to be completed by the end of 2028.
