Hello, friends!
This is Congressman Matt Van Epps, your representative for Tennessee’s Seventh Congressional District.
The State of our Union is Strong!
Tonight’s State of the Union was the strongest I’ve ever seen. President Trump laid out a clear, confident vision—and it’s one Tennesseans can already feel. Because of his policies, families are keeping more of what they earn, new jobs are coming to our state, and opportunities are expanding for workers and small businesses.
The results are real: a growing economy, increasing investment, and lower costs for everyday Americans. Just as important, our nation is safer and more respected around the world. Under President Trump, our military is mission-ready, our border is being secured, and the rule of law is being enforced. America is back on the right track.

I was also inspired to see so many American heroes honored at the State of the Union, including Chief Warrant Officer Five Eric Slover who was awarded the Medal of Honor for his heroic actions in the capture of Venezuelan dictator Nicolás Maduro. Eric proved the strength of American resolve.

On the other hand, I was disturbed to see so much political division, with Democrat lawmakers refusing to clap for a little girl who survived an accident caused by an illegal alien trucker. Learn more about the Dalilah Law here. Find out what else Democrats didn't clap for here.

I also enjoyed participating in the House Conference's SOTU media row! Watch a recap here, my interview with Blaze TV here, and my interview with Daily Mail here.

National FFA Week
I was honored to attend the Tennessee FFA Legislative Breakfast this week. I am committed to ensuring the policies coming out of Washington work for our growers and producers. As the FFA approaches its 100th anniversary, I know it will continue to serve our growers and producers, and ensure we have a new generation of agricultural leaders who embody the motto: "Learning to Do, Doing to Learn, Earning to Live, and Living to Serve."

Camden Veterans Center Future
It was humbling to visit the Camden Veterans Center and speak with those so deeply committed to serving our veterans. Their dedication and advocacy make a profound difference in the lives of our local service members. Having multiple Veteran Service Organizations co-located in one building significantly streamlines the process for area veterans seeking assistance. I am grateful for the opportunity to have visited and look forward to our continued dialogue on how we can best support those who served.
