Hello friends!

The past few weeks have been busy and productive. I spoke on the House Floor in support of three important DHS bills to strengthen our homeland security efforts, participated in a hearing focused on innovation in emergency response technology, met with members of the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce and Industry during their fly-in to Washington, and more.

I’m also grateful to be recognized for my commitment to upholding the Constitution. As I continue my work in Congress, I’ll keep fighting to defend the principles and freedoms that make our country great.

Last week, I had the privilege of speaking on the House Floor in favor of several bills to support the Department of Homeland Security. This included the Nexus for Families Act. This legislation would ease burdens for families crossing the Canadian border while maintaining high security standards. Click below to watch my remarks. Image

I also spoke on the House Floor in support of the Department of Homeland Security Intelligence and Analysis Training Act to implement a standardized training curriculum for new hires. Click here to watch.

Finally, click here to watch my remarks on the House Floor in support of the I&A Mission Reorientation Act. This bill would ensure that the Office of Intelligence and Analysis provides timely intelligence support to state and local law enforcement, especially as the U.S. continues to increase National Special Security Events like the World Cup

I'm thankful for the opportunity to have participated in an important Comittee on Science, Space, and Technology hearing. Giving our first responders access to the best available technology means faster response times, better coordination, and ultimately, more lives saved. In 2023, Middle Tennessee was hit by an EF-3 tornado, resulting in 4 fatalities and significant damage. In 2021, deadly flash floods struck Humphreys County, tragically killing twenty people. To better prepare for natural disasters, we must examine emerging research and technologies. That’s why this SST hearing mattered. Click here to read more in my press release.

Thank you to Moms for America Action for this “A” grade and for recognizing my commitment to defending the Constitution and strengthening American families. I will always stand by the Constitution, protect the freedoms it guarantees, and fight for the families who are the foundation of our country.

Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry

Thank you to the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce & Industry for the opportunity to speak with you in Washington and for bringing Tennessee’s voice to Capitol Hill. I appreciate the work you’re doing to advocate for Tennessee businesses, workers, and communities.

TVA Nuclear Energy

Nuclear energy is key to America’s energy future. It is clean, efficient, reliable, and can produce around-the-clock power. As our nation’s energy demands continue to grow, we need to expand nuclear energy to strengthen our grid, lower costs, and ensure America has the power it needs to compete and lead on the world stage.

Tennessee is at the center of an international effort to accelerate commercial fusion energy, bringing together American and British expertise, strengthening our supply chains, and creating new opportunities for skilled workers. We have the talent, research, and industrial capacity to make the next generation of energy technology a reality. America should lead the world in fusion energy, and Tennessee is ready to lead America. Click below to read more about this from the TVA.

Their partnerships with leading health care institutions and their commitment to preparing the next generation of health professionals are making a meaningful difference in Nashville and beyond.
