Last week House Democrats passed the radical “COMPETES” Act to allegedly get tough on China. This bill does the complete opposite. The 2,900-page, $325 billion legislation mentions corals reefs more than China while pouring taxpayer dollars into corrupt government agencies. Not only does the “China” bill authorize $8 billion to the U.N. climate slush fund, but it creates a new visa program that will result in a massive influx of Chinese workers.
I introduced several amendments to protect American workers and our national security. Speaker Pelosi refused to consider them. I will not stand for Democrats prioritizing China and its citizens over the American taxpayer.
To make matters worse, instead of showing strength and vowing to protect our athletes at the Winter Olympics in Beijing, Speaker Pelosi encouraged them not to anger the “ruthless” Chinese government. Liberals in Washington seem determined to concede to China.

GOODEN LEADS ACTION TO STOP FEDERAL FUNDING OF HUMAN TRAFFICKING
I recently discovered the Biden Administration is working with non-profits, U.S. corporations, and international agencies to operate an illegal immigration network that spans from South America to every community in the United States. I recently introduced the Stop Federal Funding for Human Trafficking and Smuggling Act to prevent any organization that enables human smuggling from receiving federal funds. Taxpayer dollars should not be subsidizing a mass invasion of our country and it is time to put a stop to this corrupt operation.

GOODEN PREVENTS ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS USING ARREST WARRANTS AS ID
After demanding answers from the Transportation Security Administration on illegal migrants being allowed to fly without proper identification, my office discovered TSA accepts arrest warrants as an alternative form of ID. Last week, I was joined by Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) in introducing the Strengthening Enforcement to Curtail Unlawful, Risky Entrance to (SECURE) Flights Act to stop this dangerous practice and ensure American families are safe when they fly.

Rep. Gooden introduced bill to defund nonprofits that facilitate illegal immigration

Rep. Lance Gooden, R-Texas, on Wednesday introduced legislation to remove federal funding from U.S. nonprofit organizations that help facilitate illegal entry into the United States.
The Stop Federal Funding for Human Trafficking and Smuggling Act would direct the head of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) to require federal contracts and grants to be contingent on organizations certifying that they are not involved in either human trafficking or human smuggling, fraud or bribery at the U.S. border.
