This week, Russia launched an invasion of Ukraine that has resulted in gruesome scenes of death and destruction. The U.S. and our allies must hold Russia accountable for the aggression they have shown to a peaceful nation.
Vladimir Putin chose to invade Ukraine because he is no longer intimidated by the United States. The disastrous Afghanistan withdrawal and President Biden’s decision to lift sanctions imposed by President Trump have tarnished our reputation abroad. To make matters worse, the left’s war on American energy has increased the United States’ and Europe’s reliance on Russian oil and gas. The Biden Administration should give up on their radical climate agenda and allow the United States to return to energy independence.
An emboldened Russia poses a significant national security threat to the United States, which will encourage China and other adversaries to take advantage of our vulnerable position. The United States must follow through on sanctioning every industry the Russian military relies on, permanently ending the Nord Stream 2 pipeline, and completely cutting off Russia from the global financial system.
While I do not and will not support sending American troops to fight in another war, President Biden cannot continue down a path of appeasement. We must hold Russia accountable.

THE ROOT CAUSE OF BIDEN’S ECONOMIC CRISIS
The mainstream media is lying to the American people by reporting that our nation’s economic woes are a result of the Russia-Ukraine crisis. Do not be fooled by this misinformation. President Biden’s first year in office was the worst year for inflation since 1981. On Wednesday, the national average for a gallon of gas was $3.53, and natural gas is up 40% from the same time last year. The root causes of the economic crisis are a result of President Biden’s policy failures, but the crisis in Ukraine will only make things worse.

GOODEN DEMANDS ANSWERS ON PROCESSING MIGRANT CHILDREN
Last week, I sent a letter to the Biden Administration requesting information on the process of releasing Unaccompanied Alien Children (UAC) to sponsors or family members. Human trafficking is a major industry that thrives across our open southern border, and 25% of victims are children. Out of the over two million illegal border crossings since Biden took office, nearly 146,925 were children. It is time the administration secures our southern border and takes action to protect migrant children from trafficking and abuse.
