This year alone, enough fentanyl has crossed our southern border to kill every single American seven times. Our national security and American lives are at stake, but President Biden refuses to address the border crisis. This administration must acknowledge the threat fentanyl poses to Americans and stop the flow of this drug into the United States.
I sent a letter to President Biden this week demanding he acknowledge the threat fentanyl poses to our national security by declaring the drug a weapon of mass destruction. Formally acknowledging fentanyl as a weapon of mass destruction will allow federal law enforcement agencies, the Department of Defense, and Customs and Border Protection to work together to combat the cartels and drug traffickers bringing fentanyl across our border.
